With the seemingly ever-changing social media algorithms it can be difficult to stay up to date on the best ways to grow a following and reach people.

Luckily, there is a method out there that you can use to connect with people in the online and offline worlds no matter how the algorithm changes.

In the 1970’s a psychologist developed a communication model known as PCM or the Process Communication Model.

So what exactly is PCM?

It’s a model of human behavior that breaks down personality types into six different categories: Thinker, Persister, Harmonizer, Imaginer, Rebel and Promoter.

Each type has its own unique way of communicating and processing information.

By understanding the personality types of your audience, you can create content that resonates with them on a deeper level.

Here are a few examples of the best ways to communicate as well as recognize how each like to be communicated with:

  • Thinkers tend to speak in a logical, organized manner. They appreciate clear and concise communication that presents information logically and avoids emotional appeals.
